Federer One Step Closer to History, Number 1 Ranking

Roger Federer cruised into the Wimbledon final today with a straight set 7-6 7-4 6-3 victory over Tommy Haas. Federer was nearly flawless on his serve and after he won the first set in tiebreak, he broke Haas late in the second and third sets. It was a great tournament for Haas who has proved once again that he has the game to play with some of the best players in the world. With his best performance here in Wimbledon, Haas will jump up a few spots in the rankings. Expect him to make some noise in the hard court season as well.

As for Federer, he awaits the winner between Andy Murray and Andy Roddick who are set to play right after him on Centre Court. Both Murray and Roddick are playing really good tennis. Federer has an 18-2 record against Roddick and a 2-6 record against Murray.
