(2) Roger Federer vs (6) Andy Roddick: Roger Federer will attempt to defeat Andy Roddick in the finals of Wimbledon for the third time in his career and win his record setting 15th career grand slam. With a victory on Sunday, Federer will also regain the number one ranking that Rafael Nadal gained last August. Federer is coming into the match as the clear favorite. With the way he is playing and they way he has dominated Roddick throughout his career, it would seem like a safe bet that Federer will make history on Sunday. Not so fast. Even though Federer has defeated him the last few times they met, the matches were tightly contested and right now, Roddick is playing some of the best tennis of his career. Roddick has always had a dynamic serve but he showed that he has the ability to hit every shot when he played in the semifinals against Andy Murray. Playing against Federer on Centre Court of Wimbledon is a whole different animal. His ability to play defense will cause Roddick some problems but also, his ability to turn defense into offense will be a bigger factor. The biggest factor, however, is the Roddick serve. Roddick did not match up well against Murray either but it was his serve that helped him get out of some tough spots (especially in the first game of the third set in the semis). In this match, Federer is the favorite but I truly believe, with the way Andy Roddick is playing, he's got a real shot to win his first Wimbledon. My prediction, Federer in five.
